Snakes in My Crawlspace
One of the Major calls that many Wildlife Removal companies in the United States receives in the heat of the summer is Snakes in the Crawlspace. A crawlspace is defined as an area under a house or trailer that is accessible by crawling under the structure. This area is typically cooler than the outside and offers snakes a cooler area to bask. Snakes that are found under houses are usually the Black Rat Snake. Black being the dominant color, the snake needs to retreat to a cool area to keep from over heating in the hot summer sun. As a added bonus, there are usually small rodents and bugs in these crawlspaces. This is food for the snakes. So in theory, in the Crawlspace they have it all, food and shelter, the two things a snake needs to survive. Snakes primary diet consists of Rats and Mice, some bugs on occasion will be eaten, but most of the time its rats and mice. If you suspect that you have snakes in your crawlspace, you can always go in the crawlspace and try to remove the snake yourself, or you can refer to one of our pre-screened Wildlife Removal professionals found here.
